Primary Assistant (Ages 3-6)

Topsail Montessori is seeking dynamic, dependable, professional educators with 2+ years experience teaching in a preschool setting. Candidates with strengths in classroom management, organization, leadership, and communication will be contacted for an interview. Candidates interested in pursuing Montessori certification are desired. Please highlight any specialized instructional skills you possess on your resume (music, performance, drumming/percussion, dance, STEAM, science, foreign language, storytelling, nature explorations, etc.) Send your resume and cover letter to our Head of School, Julie Ayala, for consideration.

Upon employment, candidates must submit a NC background check clearance letter, current CPR/First Aid certification, and all other required NCDEE documentation for work in a childcare setting. Hours and pay-rate will be based on a candidate's qualifications and experience. All candidates must be available to work between 7:30 to 5:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Lower Elementary Montessori Teacher

Topsail Montessori is seeking an experienced Lower Elementary Teacher to join our school community (strong preference will be given to candidates who have MACTE accredited 6-12 teacher certification).

Our beautiful 5+ acre campus is situated in a coastal community, minutes from beautiful beaches and Wilmington, NC. Nestled in a wooded neighborhood, our elementary students care for chickens & goats, plant & harvest our gardens, and experience the joy of feeling connected with nature. The spirit of Montessori is evident in our school culture, where respect, community, and love of learning form our core values. Our learning environments are created with intention and are consistent with Montessori pedagogy.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
  • Prepare the environment with care and intention and deliver an authentic Montessori curriculum
  • Deepen your own professional development and contribute to the school's continued growth
  • Demonstrate strong attendance, timeliness, organization, preparation, and time management skills
  • Attend required staff meetings and school events
  • Create & maintain: student records, lesson plans, progress reports, weekly parent communications, & continuing education documentation
  • Conduct yourself with enthusiasm and professionalism, and adapt to circumstances with humor and grace
  • Collaborate with parents, colleagues and administrators to build relationships grounded in trust, honesty, respect, accountability, and action-oriented communication

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials. Benefits include staff-member child tuition reduction. Additional benefits are negotiable.
